I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing psychotherapy and, with some clients, psychiatric medication management. I am Level 1 IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy trained as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. Integrating these with past training in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, I work to create a safe and therapeutic environment that seeks to empower clients from a place of compassion and curiosity to foster awareness and transform and reclaim parts of themselves, thereby allowing them to live more healthy, meaningful lives.
In my initial work as a cardiac nurse, I witnessed the intersection of how both physical and emotional health are significant to overall wellness. Following my graduate education, I completed a fellowship training at Yale Child Study Center where I developed an appreciation for researched and evidenced-based approaches to mental healthcare. Prior to working in private practice, I worked in home-based mental health services providing therapy and psychopharmacological services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. The understanding gained from those experiences continues today as I provide a strength-based, trauma informed and person-centered approach to offer supportive, holistic, and collaborative mental health care to individuals.
